The prize of the "International Taiji Quan cultural transmission" title was awarded to Baocheng Song for his excellence in Taiji Quan. And Baocheng Song, who is vice president of Wushu Association in Chuzhou District, accepted this prize recently. The prize is offered by Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and the Joint Foreign Affairs Office of the Henan provincial government.


Baocheng Song was born in Chuzhou in 1944, when he was a child; he followed his father and learned the martial arts nearly 60 years. In his middle age, under the tutelage of Wang Bo who is Taiji Quan master, he studied traditional martial arts, such as boxing. Since 1998, he has participated in domestic and international martial arts competitions and got Taiji Sword awards. In 2005, he went to Bangkok, in Thailand, in order to attend the third Asia-Pacific Conference and the exchange of martial arts competition, and then won the prize of Chen-style Taiji Quan and Ba Gua Zhang Competition. In the past 20 years, Mr. Baocheng Song was keen to popularize the Taiji Quan. He traveled in Shandong, Liaoning, Zhejiang, Shanghai and other places to carry out the teaching of Taiji Quan. In Chuzhou area, he took on plenty of promising apprentices in order to improve the Taiji Quan skills, but he also carry out in-depth tour of Taiji Quan teaching activities, in order to promote national culture, and make a contribution to cultural transmission.
