Historical Origin of Taoist Taiji Quan
As a famous religion, the purpose of Taoism is that Taoist converts people to Taoism in order to enlighten and guide the soul, even develops the self-cultivation. We are obliged to notice that the Taoism positively is the indigenous religion of our country, so it attracts plenty of attention by people no matter in our country or from other countries. It is known to all that Taoists do not believe in destiny. One of the Taoists said:”I do not think my fate is in heaven and earth, but I just believe in myself.” From this point of view, we have the idea that the spirit of Taoism and Taiji Quan has similar properties.
Taoists believe that, "Tao" means intangible and invisible phase, unspeakable feeling and mode of thought. We never fail to notice that "Tao" undoubtedly is the worldly standards of all things, the laws of all things, and the supreme realm of nature. Therefore, one has to do the actual practice about Taoist Taiji Quan so that he will improve himself whether physical or mental. Before the Taoist religious has yet become official practice, this kind of activity has already existed in the world, but it was not called "Taoism". Common senses and experience inform us that only after the appearance of a mature doctrines doctrine, discipline, classic methods, and venues for religious activities, gradually the organization is considered as formal religion. At that time, known as Taoism or the Taoist doctrine, the spirit of the Taoist Taiji Quan is mainly represented by Taoism or the Laozi, or the Zhuangzi.
